License Free Mesh Network (Meshcore) Update
Big improvements have taken place & more are underway for the license-free mesh network (Meshcore) in the Concho Valley! However, the mesh still need your help! It needs more repeaters inside San Angelo to help bolster the coverage of the network. Join the Angelo Mesh Discord server and the folks there can help you get a repeater node online! This mesh network is not owned by SAARC but we are happy to support it. No license is needed to use this network, so come join us!

Our mesh is now listed on MeshMapper, where real world performance data is aggregated from people “wardriving” with the MeshMapper app while going about their daily business on foot, on bikes, or in vehicles.
We also have stats for nerds (like us) available on letsmesh.org, for those who want to dive into the nitty gritty of mesh performance.
One thing the mesh coordinators do ask is that, if you’re “wardriving” from inside a vehicle, please hook your node to an external antenna mounted on the roof of the vehicle. Coverage data of nodes sitting in cup holders or on dashboards of vehicles tends to be unrealistically poor due to the effects of the antenna having poor placement. These nodes are emitting less than 1 Watt of power (many are less than 250 milliwatts), and the network isn’t designed to provide solid coverage in those circumstances.
