Celebrating More Than 100 Years of Amateur Radio in the Concho Valley

Tracing our origins to radio pioneers in 1922, we are proud to be the oldest radio club in the Concho Valley of West Central Texas (and certainly one of the oldest in Texas, too)!

Our Club call sign is W5QX, in honor of Carl Brinegar, who originally sported the call sign of 5QX (before the ‘W’ prefix was added) and was one of the earliest members of SAARC.

Please reach out to us if you have any questions or would like to learn more about our club by emailing [email protected]. We will be happy to assist you!

Our regular meetings are held promptly at 7 PM Central on the 2nd Thursday each month (except December) at the SAARC Clubhouse (5513 Stewart Ln, San Angelo, TX 76904 – near Mathis Field/San Angelo Regional Airport). Our regular meetings consist of briefly covering essential Club business, which is typically followed by an interesting program or hands-on activity, lasting about an hour in total. These meetings are always open to the public.
